We are Committed to Building a Better Burlington.

In Vermont, our people are a tightly-knit community. A sense of common purpose drives us in our community activities, how we raise our families, the way we treat our neighbors, our business dealings, and how we take care of our beautiful City and our unique State. As we embark on the completion of CityPlace Burlington, we understand the challenges we have faced with the history of this project, and we remain 100% committed to delivering on our promise of public improvements, community spaces and improving quality of life and opportunities for everyone.

Jobs. Our new retail spaces, new office space, and local services will create Vermont jobs—supporting Vermont businesses and sourcing Vermont materials and craftspeople. Our new, vibrant business atmosphere and housing availability will help attract and retain local and outside talent.

Housing. We are providing a variety of much-needed downtown housing for Vermonters. 426 apartments will bring new residents to the center of Burlington, with at least 84 units added to the City’s permanent inclusionary zoning rolls. CityPlace Burlington will truly be a place to live, work, shop, eat and play in our connected, energized and thriving downtown core.

Neighborhoods. Our goal with CityPlace Burlington is to revitalize our community—connecting people and creating neighborhoods to enhance, energize and improve downtown life. New community spaces, service businesses and retail will serve everyone—residents, visitors, workers and their families.

Environment. CityPlace Burlington’s planning and design features state-of-the-art stormwater handling and LEED Gold® certified, environmentally-responsible construction. We will be using renewable energy, creating green spaces, installing state of the art appliances and employing many other energy efficiency measures as we create this new mixed-use development.

Connectivity. We are committed to reconnecting people by restoring long-separated city streets and improving the connectedness of our walkable city though supporting healthy and sustainable alternative transportation initiatives—public transportation, car share and bike share programs.

Technology. CityPlace Burlington will be implementing Smart Building technology, creating data-rich environments, increasing energy efficiency, productivity, and security for everyone—residents, families, businesses, employees and retailers and their customers will have access to the latest in security, automation and connectivity.
